Japanese House Generator
Blender add-on · Procedural Japanese houses and small buildings
A Blender add-on that generates Japanese houses and small buildings: machiya with kōshi lattices, mortar Shōwa houses, apaato with steel stairs, tiled mansions, galvalume kyōshō jūtaku, thatched minka, with their kawara roofs, utility poles and overhead wires. Everything is procedural, with no image textures.

Ten presets, twelve claddings (cedar, yakisugi, shikkui, namako-kabe, galvalume, tiles, raw concrete…), six roof shapes and six roof coverings. The facade follows a post grid on the ken module, shared by every floor, and every opening lines up with the kamoi.

The details of a Japanese street: amado and tobukuro, sudare, air conditioners, genkan with noren, shops (izakaya, ramen, kissaten, konbini) with Japanese-text signs, chōchin and lit vending machines; on the side walls, meters, water heaters and enamel hōrō kanban signs.

Adjustable weathering (soot, mould, greyed wood, rust, moss on the tiles, with a typhoon-facing side), levels of detail switched by camera distance, and a row mode with detached houses or attached nagaya under a continuous roof.
